Mid June I will be Climing Mount Evans outside of Denver. Flying up a few days early to get my lungs going and then up I go. Seriously up. Up to 14,235 feet. This is the highest paved road in North America. 28 miles from bottom to top. The grade isn' to bad, around 6% with some higher slopes here and there but its the elevation that will get you from what I here. Tom Danielson from Slipstream is the record holder, but I just want to climb it. Its so high that trees don't grow. I hear its covered in these white mountain goats that hang on the road. I'll be sure to take pics.
Time to get my climbing legs out.
